Arrived to Udayana Lodge

After many airplane hours, a brief stop in Hong Kong, a 4 hour layover in Singapore, we arrived to Denpasar. We were met by Yno, a member of the church, and brought to the lodge. We were met by Merrill and Alan, the owners, and fed a lovely soup. The lodge is like living in the middle of a tropical forest with geckos, beautiful birds, frogs, crickets, fragrant tropical flowers and beautiful trees. Our quarters are a room with outdoor/enclosed bathroom. The kitchen is off the beautiful outdoor living room. The flora and fauna are very much like Hawaii. You can look at the lodge by searching for Udayana Kingfisher Eco-Lodge, Bali. We can both cook or eat at the lodge open air dining room. Driving is English-style. I will need to get my courage up before venturing out with either of us driving. Scooters seem to rule the road here, and use any lanes they wish. We will spend a couple of days getting our bearings before we venture too far. There is a reception tomorrow night to welcome Pastor Papa Newt.
As soon as I can figure how to download pcs to this blog, I will send a pic of our personal IED (insect eradication device)  and our new home. Love to all.Selamat tingaal -good-bye

Countdown to Adventure!

In one week we will leave on our journey to the island of Bali in Indonesia. Newt will serve as pastor in the Protestant Church in Bali at Bukit Doa International Church for four months. Housing is provided at a local Eco-Lodge.  We are excited about all the new adventures that await us - food, language, culture. We look forward to sharing this journey with you, and hope to post about once a week.

Talk to you soon!
